Indeed, there have still been slip-ups in some of the games that they've played such as their outings against Tottenham or their first leg tie against Galatasaray but, it finally feels like the best of some Liverpool players is starting to show. There's still not a chance that Arne Slot 's men end up winning the Premier League title this term but, since the Reds have advanced into the next stage of the Champions League and are still competing for the FA Cup, their campaign could still be seen as successful.
Some of the choices that Slot has made this term have obviously raised questions but a lot of the time, it's not been the Dutchman's fault as his men have been plagued with injuries. This has been an ongoing theme for most of the season and now that Mohamed Salah is ruled out of Liverpool's game against Brighton on Saturday, concerns are being raised. However, the Egyptian King's injury may not actually be the worst thing to happen.
Mohamed Salah will get some much needed rest due to his injury Although Salah hasn't always been the first name on Slot's team sheet this season, Liverpool's last couple of games have proven how important he still is to the team. The Egypt international was in the best form of his life last term and, even though fans didn't expect him to meet those same standards, most expected him to do better than he has. However, since he's represented his country at AFCON and has played in almost all of their games, it feels like he deserves a rest.
Fortunately, Slot confirmed that the injury wasn't too serious and that it would only rule him out from the game against Brighton and that it would also stop him from flying out with Egypt. In Liverpool's eyes, this is an ideal situation as it means that Salah will get plenty of rest which could end up giving him a boost for the end of the season. And, if Slot's men want to beat Paris Saint-Germain and advance into the next stage of the Champions League, they're going to need every single one of their players at their best.
