Philadelphia 76ers forward Kelly Oubre Jr. reacts to the historical performance put on by rookie VJ Edgecombe against the Sacramento Kings.
The Philadelphia 76ers received a historical rookie performance from VJ Edgecombe in Thursday's 139-118 win over the Sacramento Kings on the road. On a night the Sixers needed all hands on deck, Edgecombe stepped up to the plate with a career-high 38 points, a career-high 11 assists, and seven rebounds. Edgecombe joined Allen Iverson, Ben Simmons, and Jared McCain as the only Sixers rookies with 30-plus points and 10-plus assists in a game.
He is also just the fifth rookie with 35-plus points, 5-plus rebounds, and 10-plus assists in a game joining Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Steph Curry, and Trae Young on that list per StatMuse .
