This has naturally led to rumblings of a quick fire return to Glasgow, and it’s a rumour that’s led to split opinions amongst the Celtic support. I liked Nicolas when he was a Celtic player, and admired him for the way he pushed himself to a level no one believed he was truly capable of when he first joined the club from Rapid Wien in 2024. The German was a terrific player who possessed great pace, and had a knack of scoring vital goals, and not just domestically, but on the European stage also. Nicolas undoubtedly improved as a footballer under the guidance of Brendan Rodgers, which led to his big money move to Italy, but like a lot of players who use Celtic as a platform to bigger things, their not long in finding out that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
