The rumor comes from ESPN's Jordan Raanan , who reported that the Giants previously checked in on former Denver Broncos and new Tennessee Titans defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers. Raanan adds that JFM was always going to be out of the Giants' price range, but he believes the simple fact that the Giants looked into the veteran suggests they are looking for help along the defensive line. "New York at least checked in on the top interior defensive lineman in free agency, John Franklin-Myers," Raanan reported.
"And while it wasn't serious players before he signed with the Tennessee Titans for more than $20 million per season, it seems to indicate the Giants were interested in adding a player to their defensive interior. " Raanan goes on to add that the Giants are "still likely" to add upfront, whether that be in free agency, the draft, or both, and he specifically mentions a "run-stuffing presence. " It's not hard to see why the Giants want to make an addition upfront.
