Serena Williams’ former coach picks who he thinks will win the Miami Open

Sinner heads into this tournament full of confidence after his recent triumph at Indian Wells, aiming to complete the Sunshine Double. Alcaraz, meanwhile, will be looking to respond after his semi-final exit at the hands of Daniil Medvedev in California. The American coach has also worked with Andy Roddick and Maria Sharapova. When it comes to this year’s ATP Miami Open, he’s made his pick clear. Macci likes Sinner’s chances of going back-to-back after his Indian Wells win.
“Asked my prediction for the Miami open men winner,” said Macci. “Just have a feel Sinner get the daily double as the fast courts and his style gives his opponents trouble and lower bounce gives him options and time to pounce. ” Sinner already has one Miami Open title under his belt, having lifted the trophy in 2024.
The Italian, who had twice been a finalist before 2024, defeated Daniil Medvedev and Grigor Dimitrov on his way to the title. Sinner is seeded second in this year’s draw and has received a bye into the second round. He will face either Damir Dzumhur or Ignacio Buse first up.
