Micah Gray is Oklahoma State basketball's even-keeled leader entering March Madness
Finishing her career with a home-state program, Oklahoma State's Micah Gray has provided unique leadership skills as OSU heads to the NCAA Tournament.
Trisha Gray made sure to keep her own desires from dictating her daughter’s college basketball experience. So when Micah Gray left their Oklahoma City home for Texas Southern in Houston for her freshman season, then Seton Hall in South Orange, New Jersey, Trisha watched with pride. But when Micah’s path brought her back close to home at Oklahoma State , Trisha celebrated that, too.
“I was so open to her just loving basketball to where she would travel far and wide, it didn’t matter,” Trisha told The Oklahoman . “But when she got the opportunity to come back home, it was almost surreal, because if anybody knows Micah, they know she always wanted to play for OSU. “So the full circle was just amazing.
” Now a senior for the eighth-seeded Cowgirls , Micah will play in her final NCAA Tournament when OSU (23-9) takes on No. 9 Princeton (26-3) at 6:30 p. m.
Saturday at UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles. “I’m super-blessed for the blessing that God has given me to have this full-circle moment,” Micah said. “I got recruited kind of low in high school, but to get to come back and play for my city, it’s been amazing.
