Beau Welling polishes the stars at Cowboys Golf Club in Texas
If you're a fan of the football team (or even if you love to hate it), you need to see the renovation of Cowboys.
Architect Beau Welling has wrapped up an extensive renovation of Cowboys Golf Club near Dallas, and if you’re a fan of the NFL team of the same name, you’ve got to see the place. The work included a redesigned 18-hole course, a Dallas Cowboys themed practice facility and an 18-hole putting course. Owned by Arcis Golf, which operates 88 courses in the U.
S. , Cowboys Golf Club in Grapevine was ranked by Golfweek’s Best as the No. 13 public-access course in Texas before the renovation.
Arcis bills the facility as the only NFL-themed golf club in the world. Welling, who frequently works alongside Tiger Woods in designing other courses, touched every part of Cowboys as part of a comprehensive master plan. The company’s in-house design and construction team did the work.
The following details were included in a media release: All 18 greens were expanded and modernized with dramatic contours and new hole locations. Cowboys Golf Club is the first in the nation to feature Tif3D Bermuda grass on all 20 greens (18 holes plus the practice facility), ensuring consistent, pristine conditions year-round. Five sets of tees were rebuilt on each hole with a classic square design.
