Jersey all-rounder Grace Wetherall says it is "amazing" to have been picked for a European side to play at Lord's.

The 19-year-old will play against the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) at the home of cricket on 17 April. The European team is made up of players from associate nations teams across the continent.

"I remember getting the phone call and I just couldn't even believe it," she told BBC Radio Jersey. "I didn't even know my name had been put forward so being able to have the opportunity to play at Lord's, the home of England cricket is going to be like a unreal experience. "I've always dreamed of walking down the stairs into the pavilion and everything.

"It's just an amazing ground and being able to experience that, walking onto the pitch with a whole bunch of fantastic cricketers, it's just going to be amazing. " Jersey star hopes Australia spell helps her career Wetherall has won 44 caps for Jersey and played in the island's first official women's one-day international aged just 12 in 2019. She has gone on to play Minor Counties cricket for Wiltshire and spent the past winter in grade cricket in Australia.

" I think I can go as far as I put my mind to," she said when asked what her ambitions were. "Nothing is impossible but I think it's going be a lot of work, and it's going to be hard. "But if I really want to do it I'm going to push myself to get there I'm going to go as far as I can go.
