Wisconsin great Frank Kaminsky reacts to Badgers' opening-round loss

•Yahoo Sports

Wisconsin basketball suffered an all-too-familiar March Madness fate on Thursday, falling in the first round to No. 12-seed High Point, 83-82. The loss marks the program's sixth straight opening-weekend exit.

Three of those six exits came in just the first round, all of which saw the Badgers fall victim to the dreaded 12-over-5 upset. Looking ahead to 2026-27, the program's Sweet Sixteen drought now sits at 10 years. With many digesting the implications of the loss, one notable comment came from program great Frank Kaminsky, who offered his support for Greg Gard during an appearance on ESPN Madison.

Here are his full comments: "Seriously, I don't know where it goes from here," Kaminsky began. "You just have to appreciate the season and what it was. They got back to the NCAA Tournament, they were a top-five seed again.

But you can see what the problem is. But (Greg Gard) is a fantastic coach. He really is.

He's a guy who can figure it out. He's really smart. I think he'll find the guys who can come in play.
