T. today on CBS. Santa Clara is coached by Herb Sendek, who once served as an assistant coach under Rick Pitino at Kentucky from 1989-1993.

Sendek is in his 10th season at the helm of the Broncos program, with this season being the first since 1996 that Santa Clara earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament. The last time Santa Clara was in the tournament, Steve Nash was playing point guard. Santa Clara is no slouch in this first-round matchup for Kentucky.

The Broncos have legitimate size and rebound the ball well. They’re also a volume shooting team, averaging 29 three-point attempts per game while shooting 34. 6 percent from deep.
