A decision by one of the draft's top LBs may have teams like the Cowboys thinking twice; Dallas is set to spend extra time with an in-state prospect.

The offseason focus around The Star in Frisco continues to be on rebuilding the defense. With college pro days in full effect, team representatives have fanned out across the country to get a first-hand look at some of the top prospects, but that doesn't always mean a boost to the big board rankings. In Athens, for example, one highly-touted linebacker who's been linked to Dallas in multiple mocks may have seen his stock drop; today's headlines explain why CJ Allen chose not to run the 40-yard dash for scouts.

Other prospects seem to be rising, including in-state cornerback Malik Muhammad. The Texas Longhorn is set for an intrguing multi-day visit with the Cowboys. New safety Jalen Thompson is aiming to take on a big role in the new Dallas defense, and he credited a family atmosphere around the facility as just one reason for his signing.

As for new cornerback Cobie Durant, one key for him was "vibes," the similarities he sees between Brian Schottenheimer and former head coach Sean McVay. We're also re-evaluating the Quinnen Williams trade through the lens of what the Cowboys gave up. And we're tallying up the numbers on the failed Logan Wilson experiment; how does paying $108,333 per tackle sound?
