Ipswich game 'not make or break' - Neil

Yahoo Sports

Millwall boss Alex Neil tells BBC Radio London their Championship match at Ipswich on Saturday is no more important than their other remaining games.

Millwall's Championship match at Ipswich Town on Saturday (12:30 GMT) will not define their season, according to head coach Alex Neil. The Lions are fourth in the Championship table, level on points with their third-placed opponents and only two short of the automatic promotion places. "If you can beat the teams around you, you go into those games with a real confidence because they're the teams, if you make the play-offs, you may need to meet again," Neil told BBC Radio London.

"We understand the importance of the (Ipswich) game but it's not going to make or break our season although it is a vitally important match at this stage. " Millwall follow the game at Ipswich with a trip to second-placed Middlesbrough on Friday, 3 April (12:30 GMT) but Neil is keen not to place any more importance on matches against their fellow promotion challengers. "It makes no difference.

We've got eight games to play and we need to win as many as we can," he added. "Naturally the more the games whittle down the more important they become because you can't make up the points when they're gone. "We need to make sure we go and give the best account of ourselves in the game and try to win the match.
