SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) — The No. 7-ranked Wall High School baseball team scored a dozen runs in the first inning on its way to a 28-0 District 6-3A victory at home against Grape Creek on Thursday afternoon. The defending state champions improved to 13-7 overall and 5-0 in district, and Grape Creek dropped to 0-11-1 and 0-5.
The Hawks and Eagles will conclude the season series at 4 p. m. Tuesday at Grape Creek.
Wall pushed its winning streak to 11 games. It was a special day for Hawks junior Mason Plummer, who made his final appearance of the season before season-ending surgery. A prayer was said over the PA system, as fans and players for both teams showed their support for the Hawks player.
