VJ Edgecombe leads the Philadelphia 76ers to a much-needed win over the Sacramento Kings on Thursday night.

The Philadelphia 76ers invaded the Golden 1 Center to pay a visit to the Sacramento Kings on Thursday looking to bounce back. The Sixers had a miserable night in Denver to begin this 3-game road trip and needed to earn a win over the West-worst Kings to stay in the race to get back in the top 6 in the East. The Sixers used a fast start, shook off a slow second quarter, and were able to earn a 139-118 win over the lowly Kings.

Philadelphia needed this one when considering the current circumstances in the East and how tight everything is in the standings. Every win counts right now and every win is important. VJ Edgecombe had a career-high 38 points, seven rebounds, and 11 assists, while Justin Edwards had a career-high 32 points and knocked down a career-high seven 3-pointers, and Quentin Grimes had 27 points, seven assists, and five rebounds.

Andre Drummond hopped off the bench and had 13 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks while Adem Bona added eight points and 10 boards and Dominick Barlow had 12 points and eight rebounds. Here are the player grades following the win on the road: VJ Edgecombe: A-plus A beneficiary of the strong start by Edwards on the offensive end, Edgecombe was able to come up with some quick offense early. He knocked down a couple of triples which then forced the Kings to adjust and he then put the ball on the floor to get to his spots on the offensive end.

He knocked down some impressive buckets in the mid-range as he continues to mature on the offensive end of his game. His takeover in the third quarter really put the Kings away and allowed the Sixers to cruise from there. He also stuffed the box score with his ability to make plays for others and attack the glass.
