And the Scotland international heaped praise on Sancho, who is on loan at Villa for the season. “I think it was Jadon’s best performance in a Villa shirt,” he said. “He was man of the match by a mile tonight.
“The manager was giving me grief before the game to get in the box and he set me nicely and I managed to put it past the keeper. ” McGinn has recently returned from a knee injury and says he is gradually getting back to full fitness. “The first half I probably struggled to get up to the speed of the game,” he admitted.
“I felt a lot more comfortable on Sunday. “But as footballers you get a second wind and thankfully in the second half I got a second wind and managed to play past 60 minutes. “Hopefully on Sunday he keeps me on a bit longer as well.
