The team has managed splendidly so far, but any absences will be felt more strongly against a behemoth like Real Madrid in the Champions League. It seems now that Real Madrid might have had their own stroke of misfortune, with star goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois effectively ruled out of the quarterfinal clash against Bayern with an injury per a report from . Lunin will slot in for his injured teammate and has already faced Bayern Munich back in the 2023/24 UCL semifinals, where he put in two splendid shifts, resulting in a 4-3 victory for Real Madrid.
