Coach Nick Nurse discusses the importance of the final 2 games of the road trip for the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Philadelphia 76ers are 0-1 to start their 3-game road trip following a loss to the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday. Still short-handed, the Sixers were unable to overcome the absences of Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid, Paul George, and others in the loss to the Nuggets. As Philadelphia moves forward, the focus is to climb out of the play-in and earn a guaranteed playoff spot in the top 6.

The Sixers have two more winnable games on this trip as they take on the West-worst Sacramento Kings on Thursday and then the team with the second-worst record in the West in the Utah Jazz on Saturday. Coach Nick Nurse knows how important these final two games of the trip are before the Sixers return home to host the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday. It would help build momentum.

"Yeah, very important," Nurse told reporters. "I just told the guys we got two big ones on this road trip, and we need to go get them, and if we get them, it turns out to be another good road trip for us. We've had some good ones where we get four out of five, two out of three, two out of three, and that's got to be our goal starting with the next one.

" The Sixers did defeat the Kings back on Jan. 29--thanks to the late heroics of Maxey--so Philadelphia should be able to come away with a win on the road. The Kings are a veteran-laden team, but it has been a real struggle for Sacramento all season.
