Kristaps Porzingis talks time with Boston Celtics, their title potential this season
"I don’t think we need to put any limit now with those two guys leading them," said KP of the Jays.
In his first game back to play the Boston Celtics in his former home arena of TD Garden, Golden State Warriors big man Kristaps Porzingis had himself a solid outing with the Golden State Warriors in their 120-99 loss to Boston. The Latvian center put up 11 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and as many blocks as a starter. But he also was feted with a tribute video for his contributions towards the Celtics' 2024 title, and his time playing for Boston.
"Honestly, I knew I was going to get a nice ovation," said KP, who had great rapport with the fans over his two seasons playing as a Celtic. "I had a great time here, a great couple of years. " "I know the fans appreciated me, so it was good to be back here," added the Warriors center after the loss.
Few might have guessed that a veteran-heavy squad like the Dubs would be having a worse season than the Celtics squad that started the season with an injured Jayson Tatum and a host of young, unproven players. But Boston has since developed into a top team in the league, and with Tatum back in the fold, true contention status appears to have been cemented. Not lost on Porzingis, the Golden State big had praise for his former ball club.
"Honestly, they already have this championship DNA, so they’re going to go far. " "I don’t think we need to put any limit now with those two guys leading them. They have all the possibilities again.
