Tributes pour in as Mets legend announces retirement
Longtime New York Mets play-by-play announcer Howie Rose suddenly announced he will retire at the conclusion of the 2026 season, bringing to an end one of the longest active tenures in baseball broadcasting. Elected to the Mets Hall of Fame in January of 2023, Rose will be entering his 52nd year of broadcasting in 2026.
