Trey Yesavage joins José Berríos on the injured list, leaving the reigning American League champions scrambling to fill their starting rotation.

DUNEDIN, Florida — The Toronto Blue Jays will open the season without right-handed pitcher Trey Yesavage, who will begin the year on the injured list because of shoulder impingement. Manager John Schneider said Thursday that the 22-year-old reported to spring training with the injury, which has slowed his preparation for the season. “It’s something that he reported to camp with and obviously led to his slow build-up as well,” Schneider told reporters.
