Backup Chase Johnston powers No. 12 High Point in rally past No. 5 Wisconsin in NCAA tournament thriller
March Madness has its first Cinderella entry. No. 12 seed High Point upended No.
5 seed Wisconsin on Thursday as the first double-digit seed to secure a win in the NCAA tournament. Wisconsin led by 10 points in the first half and 70-62 with 7:08 remaining. But the Panthers rallied behind hot 3-point shooting to secure the upset win behind hot 3-point shooting down the stretch.
Backup Chase Johnston powered the late rally with a 14-point effort while shooting 4 of 6 from 3, then hitting the go-ahead bucket in the final 12 seconds. High Point then got two stops in the final seconds to secure High Pointโs first-ever NCAA tournament win.
