Dodger Fans Sound Off on Field Name Change

Yahoo Sports

Despite fan concerns about a new sponsorship, the name Dodger Stadium isn't going anywhere.

Worry not, Dodger fans. Dodger Stadium isn’t going anywhere. Yes, the team has reached an agreement with the Japanese company Uniqlo for field naming rights, but the name Dodger Stadium is remaining.

Katie Woo of The Athletic was the first with the news that the likely name will be Uniqlo Field at Dodger Stadium. “Dodger Stadium’s name will remain unchanged. The Dodgers did not sell the naming rights to their ballpark and were not open to doing so throughout the process,” Woo wrote.

“Protecting the legacy of Dodger Stadium, which has been the name of the historic park since its opening in 1962, was a top priority for the organization. ” Jul. 10, 2009; Los Angeles, CA, USA; Aerial view of Dodger Stadium near downtown Los Angeles.
