Bucs rank 13th in new post-free agency power rankings

Yahoo Sports

The Bucs lost Mike Evans but added a number of new faces in free agency that will help reinforce their defense.

The Bucs haven’t brought in any big names from free agency, but there’s still plenty of new faces joining the team. Linebacker Alex Anzalone and running back Kenneth Gainwell are the two most-notables names while defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson brings another veteran presence to a position that’s long been a strength in Tampa Bay. But even with the loss of longtime wide receiver Mike Evans, CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco believes the Bucs have lost much ground to other teams after the first week of free agency.

In a new set of power rankings, Prisco has the Bucs ranked 13th in the league, just behind the Ravens and one spot ahead of the Cowboys. “ They didn’t do a lot in free agency, but they did add nice pieces in linebacker Alex Anzalone and edge Al-Quadin Muhammad,” says Prisco. “The big key will be staying healthy in what looks like a win-or-else year for coach Todd Bowles.

” The most surprising part is that the Bucs actually moved up five whole spots since Prisco’s last set of power rankings prior to free agency. Most surprising because, as I mentioned above, the Bucs lost a player that may very well currently reside on the franchise’s Mount Rushmore. The post-Evans era is going to feel very weird for fans, but there’s still enough firepower on offense to believe that unit will be just fine moving forward.

So what do you all think of Priscoe’s ranking? Should the Bucs be higher or lower? Go ahead and tell us why, along with all of your thoughts below!
