Texas A&M RHP Josh Stewart will reportedly miss the rest of the season after sustaining an injury against Oklahoma.

Texas A&M (17-3, 1-2 SEC) is now dealing with yet another setback on the mound, as veteran RHP Josh Stewart, who sustained an injury during his brief appearance against Oklahoma last weekend, has been out ever since, and, according to coach Michael Earley, will miss the remainder of the regular season for the second consecutive year. After transferring from Texas after the 2022 season, Stewart's star began to rise during his 2024 junior season during the Aggies' historic run to the College World Series Title Game. Making 25 appearances on the mound, Stewart recorded 39 strikeouts in 31.

2 innings, and during the CWS run, the Georgetown, Texas native recorded 12 Ks with an impressive 3. 00 ERA. After the 2024 season, Stewart rejoined a stacked roster with the hopes of putting together his best season, but during his first and only appearance, the senior suffered a season-ending injury.

He was on track to return for a final year and eventually head to the MLB Draft. Amid all the offseason drama, Stewart's return was vital after pitcher Caden McCoy was lost for the year, and paired with Clayton Freshcorn, Texas A&M 's relief pitching was back on track. In the first four games, Stewart recorded 10 strikeouts in 6.

1 innings before suffering another setback during his fifth appearance last Friday against the Sooners. Texas A&M's pitching depth is officially an issue, which will force Michael Earley and pitching coach Jason Kelly to rely even more on Clayton Freshcorn to close out games in SEC play. Texas A&M baseball coach Michael Earley tells us on @TexAgsLive that RHP Josh Stewart will be out for the year after suffering an injury at Oklahoma.
