Cunningham appeared to sustain the injury when he dove for a loose ball and collided with guard Tre Johnson in the first quarter of a 130-117 win over the Washington Wizards on Tuesday in Washington, D.
C. He checked out about a minute later and did not return. The Pistons, who initially explained Cunningham was ruled out because of back spasms, said later he was diagnosed with a left lung pneumothorax.
He will be re-evaluated at the end of his two-week absence. The two-time All-Star averaged 24. 5 points, 9.
9 assists, 5. 6 rebounds and 1. 5 steals per game through his first 61 starts this season.
