Dolphins sign 8-year veteran after a full season off

Yahoo Sports

The Miami Dolphins now have competition at every single position in their specialist room, as they signed a second long snapper on Thursday.

The Miami Dolphins have doubled up at both punter and kicker this offseason, leaving long snapper as the only position in the specialists room to not have a competition for 2026. However, that changed on Thursday, as the Dolphins announced that they've signed long snapper Taybor Pepper. Pepper, 31, played collegiately at Michigan State before going undrafted in 2016 and signing with the Green Bay Packers in 2017.

Since then, he's stints with the Baltimore Ravens (2017), New York Giants (2019) and San Francisco 49ers (2020-24). He also spent most of the 2019 season in Miami, so he should be a familiar name for most fans. Heading into the offseason program, Pepper will have to beat out Tucker Addington for the starting job, and with 100 games of experience in the NFL, he's probably still the favorite, despite taking the 2025 season off.
