Where Clemson’s Christopher Vizzina landed in this ACC QB rankings
Clemson quarterback Christopher Vizzina ranks in the middle of the table for CBS Sports’ early ACC quarterback rankings.
There’s a new direction coming for Clemson football’s offense, and with it comes plenty of uncertainty around the most important position on the field. As spring rankings for ACC quarterbacks started to roll out, Christopher Vizzina landed squarely in the middle of the pack. The former highly regarded recruit is expected to take over next, but national outlets aren’t rushing to place him among the league’s top arms just yet.
CBS Sports slotted Vizzina at No. 9 , pointing to both his pedigree and his limited experience. “The Cade Klubnik era is over — for better or worse — and it looks like Vizzina will step in as his replacement in 2026,” Austin Nivison wrote.
While he hasn’t played extensively, Vizzina did show something in his first start last season, finishing with 317 yards and three touchdowns against SMU. Athlon Sports wasn’t far off, placing him 10th in its own rankings. “Vizzina – a former four-star recruit – takes the reins of Clemson’s offense after 14 appearances over the last three seasons,” Steven Lassan wrote.
He also pointed back to that SMU performance while outlining Vizzina’s overall numbers so far, along with a bit of production on the ground. More than anything, though, Athlon raised the bigger question about what comes next, asking, “Can the return of former play-caller Chad Morris help to spark Clemson’s offense and help Vizzina’s career take off? ” At the top of both lists sits Miami’s Darian Mensah, with a group of more experienced quarterbacks filling out the rest of the upper tier.
