Brown in trade rumors and reports, but they should shift their focus to George Pickens. The Patriots have reportedly been unwilling to meet the Philadelphia Eagles' asking price for Brown. The Patriots could wait around for the price for Brown to drop, which could happen after June 1, when cap implications change for Brown.
However, Brown is not the only star receiver who could be on the move. The Dallas Cowboys have franchise-tagged Pickens, but just last season, they botched an extension with Micah Parsons and ended up trading him. Ian Rapoport reported at the NFL Combine that Pickens would not report without an extension.
Jerry Jones has a way of digging his heels in on these extensions and making things worse by making public comments. If a situation similar to Parsons' plays out, Pickens getting traded is not far-fetched. While the Patriots may not want to deal a first-round pick for Brown, that could change for Pickens.
