Dolphins sign veteran punter, creating another competition for 2026

The Miami Dolphins may have already brought in a punter this offseason, but now they're signing someone to compete for the job.

After the Miami Dolphins moved on from Jake Bailey in free agency, they signed Seth Vernon to take his place not long after. Now, it looks like Vernon will have competition for the job this offseason. On Thursday, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported that the Dolphins have signed punter and kickoff specialist Bradley Pinion.

Pinion, 31, played collegiately at Clemson from 2012-14 before the San Francisco 49ers took him in the fifth round (No. 165 overall) of the 2015 NFL draft. After four years in San Francisco, Pinion spent three with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and won a Super Bowl.

He's been with the Atlanta Falcons for he last four seasons. In his career, Pinion has booted the 750 times with a 44. 5-yard average and a 40.

0-yard net average while 36. 1% of his punts land inside the 20-yard line. He's also handled kickoffs at every stop in his career, averaging 64 yards.
