Giselle Alvarez powers Washington Huskies to 8-0 win over North Dakota
Giselle Alvarez went 3-for-3 with 4 runs batted in as the Huskies run-ruled North Dakota 8-0 on Wednesday.
Another day, another run-rule victory for the Washington Huskies as they waltzed to their 13th consecutive win, beating the North Dakota Fighting Hawks 8-0. Coach Heather Tarr's team got off to a hot start on Wednesday and never looked back, putting up three runs in the first inning. Junior third baseman Giselle Alvarez got the party started with a run-scoring single as part of a stellar day where she went 3-for-3 with 4 runs batted in and 2 runs scored, finishing a triple shy of the cycle thanks to a three-run home run in the second inning and an RBI double in the fourth inning.
Freshman catcher Ally Hetzel's hot streak continued as she went 2-for-2 with a triple and an RBI, while Preseason Second Team All-American Alexis DeBoer went 2-for-3 with a run scored as the Huskies put together 11 hits in the contest. com/xRF5lJ4HTM ā Washington Softball (@UWSoftball) March 19, 2026 Sophomore Morgan Reimer earned the win and improved to 14-1 on the season after working 4 scoreless innings, allowing 3 hits and 2 runs with 5 strikeouts before she gave way to Sophia Ramuno, who tossed a perfect final frame with a pair of strikeouts. Tehya Armstrong took the loss for the Fighting Hawks after she was able to get through just 2 innings, surrendering 5 runs (4 earned) on 5 hits with a walk and a strikeout. With the win, the Huskies improved to 23-6 on the season.
Now, they'll hit the road for their first Big Ten series away from Montlake, when they battle the Michigan Wolverines , which is set to begin on Friday, March 20 at 2:00 p. m. PT.
