The Jets may still add a kicker this offseason after signing
The New York Jets may still add a veteran kicker during training camp.
The New York Jets have undergone some offseason changes at the kicker position. Aging veteran Nick Folk signed a two-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons as an unrestricted free agent. The Jets did not appear interested in retaining Folk despite him going an excellent 28-of-29 during the 2025 season.
The Jets responded to Folk's departure by signing journeyman kicker Cade York. York was a pretty high-profile kicker coming out of LSU. He was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL draft.
York failed to meet expectations with the Browns. After struggling as a rookie, the Browns moved on from York before his sophomore season even began. Since then, the former Tigers standout has been the subject of seven different transactions, joining a slew of different NFL teams for short stints on their roster or practice squad.
The only other kicker on the Jets' offseason roster is Lenny Krieg. Krieg possesses no NFL regular-season experience, though he spent last season on the Falcons' practice squad. The Jets should probably add another kicker this offseason.
