Nebraska advances following 75-56 win over Richmond in First Four

The Nebraska women's team opened the postseason on Wednesday against Richmond in the First Four. The Huskers dominated the Spiders 75-56 to advance.

Nebraska women's basketball (19-12) entered the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive season, opening the postseason on Wednesday night against Richmond (26-8) in the First Four . The Huskers dominated the Spiders, pulling away in the second half to win 75-56 and advance to the Round of 64 . Nebraska entered halftime up 34-32, dropping a 10-point lead and allowing Richmond to get back into the game.

But the Huskers emerged from the locker room and outscored the Spiders 27-6 in the third to go up 61-38, putting the game away then and there. Britt Prince led the charge for the Huskers, shooting 10-of-14 from the floor to tally 22 points on the night. She also earned five assists and two blocks.

Callin Hake scored 14 points, hitting 5-of-7 in total and 4-of-5 from three-point range. The Huskers finished 29-of-51 from the floor and hit 11-of-22 from beyond the arc. The Spiders shot 21-of-53 and 4-of-23, respectively.

Richmond did go 10-of-14 from the free-throw line, but almost all of it occurred in the first half. Nebraska held the Spiders to 0-of-1 in the second. Richmond also outrebounded the Huskers 29-26 but only secured 12 in the second half.
