The winter season has closed for Oshkosh and Fond du Lac area high school athletes. Here are the top prep performers from March 9 – March 15 in the Oshkosh and Fond du Lac area. Every week, the number of top performers per sport can change, and the list just includes standout performances that deserve recognition.
One more standard that is set is that there’s no more than one athlete chosen per team, per sport. To submit a nomination, please email Ben Schultz at BSchultz@usatodayco. com with the athlete's name, school, sport and what they did to deserve the nomination.
Please send your nominations by the end of the night on Sundays. Look for top performers to start back up during the spring sports season ahead. Boys Basketball Jackson Anderson, Oshkosh North: Anderson had 33 points, two rebounds and two assists in a sectional semifinal loss to Brookfield East.
Blake Steger, Lomira: Steger finished with 29 points, five rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block in a sectional semifinal win over Pardeeville. Girls Basketball Josie Christian, Lomira: In a state semifinal loss to Neillsville, Christian had 13 points, three assists, three steals, two rebounds and a block. Grace Mitchell, Winneconne: Mitchell won the 3-point challenge that was held in Green Bay at the girls state basketball tournament.
