Can the Irish get to the Sweet Sixteen again, and can they do more?

The Notre Dame Women’s team is a 6 seed and will first face Fairfield in the first round in Columbus. There are several interesting matchups in the Fort Worth bracket for the Irish should they get past Fairfield. Outside of any possible games against ACC foes, the Irish could see a regional rival in the Ohio State Buckeyes, and Notre Dame advances to the Elite 8 for the first time in a number of years, rival UConn could be waiting for them.

The Huskies beat the Irish in January, 85-47. But let’s not get too far ahead. The first big step really is the Sweet Sixteen.

Notre Dame has made 14 straight Sweet Sixteens in their last 14 appearances in the NCAA Tournament. Naturally, Irish fans are confident in a return to that bracket. As a 6 seed though, it does feel a little more tricky.
