Chivas was overly superior and completely dominated a terrible Leon side who made things harder for themselves after going down to 10 players.
Chivas continue their great season but will have a tougher match when they travel north to face off against Monterrey. Leon will have another road match when they face off against Atletico San Luis. The 1st half started with the return with Chivas of Brian Gutierrez to the starting 11 as well as Santiago Sandoval.
A cross into the area would be lowered by Sandoval but his left footed shot would be blocked by Leonโs goalkeeper, Oscar Garcia. The ball would eventually be crossed into the area and deflected into the path of Efrain Alvarez, whose left footed shot was also saved by Garcia. A great thru pass would get the ball to Armando Gonzalez, who got off a right footed shot that was well saved by Garcia.
After a good move by Richard Ledezma, he would get off a cross that forced Garcia to clear it with a save or Gonzalez would have had a close range chance. A right footed shot from outside the area from Gutierrez was deflected just wide. After a ball was failed to be cleared, Alvarez got to the ball and seemed to be dropped by Juan Pablo Dominguez and a Penalty Kick was given to Chivas.
