Browns sign WR/returner with Todd Monken connection in NFL free agency
Bringing over a receiver from the the Ravens with him, Browns head coach lands a familiar face in NFL free agency in the form of Tylan Wallace.
Adding another player in NFL free agency , the Browns have added another Todd Monken connection. In desperate need of overhauling their special teams, the Browns have signed Tylan Wallace, who has spent his entire career as a returnman and depth wide receiver with the Baltimore Ravens. This means that he spent the past three seasons with Monken as his offensive coordinator.
Wallace has never caught more than 11 passes in a season , but he does have experience returning kicks and punts. Throughout his five-year career, he has averaged 16 yards per punt return and 23 yards per kick return, and has even taken a punt back to the house. #Browns have agreed to terms with former #Ravens WR and ST contributor Tylan Wallace, source tells clevelanddotcom.
— Mary Kay Cabot (@MaryKayCabot) March 18, 2026 What impact can Tylan Wallace have on the Browns? Flat out, the Browns need to rework their entire receiver room. Even if Wallace enters as the fourth or fifth receiver in that room, that brings the Browns at least some semblance of depth that they have not had in two seasons at the position.
He will be a depth receiver, and the return stuff is a bonus. The Browns have been searching for a return specialist for quite some time, but they have all gotten injured and never taken a snap for the Browns in the regular season. This was the case with Jakeem Grant, an All-Pro returner, who suffered two season-ending injuries in two years over the summer.
