Garza broke down how his teammates checked on him after the Vucevic trade made Boston's frontcourt better -- while also cutting into his playing time.

You might think that he had been with the Boston Celtics for a half-decade with his teammates the way they look out for him. But Luka Garza joined the team this offseason as part of the next generation of rotation players picking up the mantle from several 2024 title core members who left the team in free agency this summer. Still, speakign at a recent community event, Garza broke down how his teammates checked in on him after the Nikola Vucevic trade both made Boston's frontcourt better -- while also cutting into the former Minnesota Timberwolves big man's playing time.

"When the Vooch trade happened, obviously, it was an amazing thing for our team, and heโ€™s a great player," said Garza. "But obviously, guys know, as a team, that (the trade) would probably impact my minutes a little bit," recalled the Iowa alum. "And I was just really surprised at some of the guys coming up to me and really just giving me motivating thoughts and being like, โ€˜Hey, like, stay ready.

Weโ€™re going to need you. Youโ€™ve done good things for us,'" offered Garza. "As people, as players, that's the kind of guys that are in that locker room.

And for me, that really meant a lot, especially (because) I'm always going to be the guy with a very positive mindset. But when you hear things like that, it helps you a lot. " Listen to "Havlicek Stole the Pod" on: Blue Wire: https://tiny.
