Packers quarterback Jordan Love surprises UWGB women's basketball team
Packers quarterback Jordan Love visited UWGB women's basketball practice and shared some words of wisdom as the Phoenix prepares for March Madness.
The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay women’s basketball team had several supporters come out to the Kress Center on March 18 to help send players and coaches off to the NCAA Tournament. The group included one very special guest in Jordan Love . The Green Bay Packers quarterback surprised the Phoenix as it prepared for its first-round game against Minnesota, set for Friday, March 20, at Williams Arena in Minneapolis.
The meeting was helped set up by former Green Bay East basketball star Eddie Boyce , who is good friends with Love. Boyce, who owns Angelina restaurant, has been a supporter of UWGB athletics and is often seen at men’s and women’s basketball games. Boyce told Love that he thought it would be a great surprise to stop at the practice and wish the team luck.
He didn't need to convince him. Love was down with the idea right away. "He loves being a part of this community and supporting different things," Boyce said.
"It's so genuine from him. He said to me after, 'That was dope. '" That's how the team felt, too.
