Mikko Rantanen finally returned to team practices. Bruce LeVine posted a video on Tuesday showing Rantanen, 29, skating with his teammates for the first time since his injury. "Mikko Rantanen on the ice with his teammates during an optional practice today," LeVine wrote on his X account.
However, he noted that the Finnish player still needs at least a couple of weeks to play again. "Still a couple of weeks away from playing, but positive to see. " Rantanen suffered a lower-body injury while playing for Finland at the Olympics.
The Stars said they would monitor the forward's progress before his return to the United States. Although early estimates indicated that it could take two weeks to recover from the injury, as LeVine notes, it could take longer than expected. Even so, the fact that he is already on the ice is a positive sign.
