There has been little update on the latter as he makes his way back from injury, and weekly anticipation for the former with no sighting yet.
Martinez has not made an appearance for United since going down ahead of a win at Everton in February. A calf injury has kept him out of three straight matches and willnot expected to return against Bournemouth on Friday, per interim boss Michael Carrick. Carrick also confirmed that Patrick Dorgu is not available and may take some more time to make his return since suffering a hamstring injury at Arsenal in January.
He also added that Noussair Mazraoui is ill. “Lisandro Martinez is closer, a lot closer,” Carrick said. “He’s getting there, so after this one.
I think he’ll be alright. Dorgu is a bit further down the line but Mazraoui is just ill. He just wasn’t feeling too good today.
” Matthijs De Ligt has remained an injury concern for United since going down with a lower back injury in November. “Frustrating for Matta,” Carrick said. “He’s obviously trying to work to get back but it’s just the back issue, really, that’s proving difficult.
