Dodgers’ Miguel Rojas breaks silence on now-deleted PED report
Miguel Rojas was briefly but falsely identified as the recipient of an 80-game performance enhancing drug suspension from Major League Baseball on Monday. MORE: Dodgers make decision on Roki Sasaki after rocky start A since-deleted post on X by Evan Drellich of The Athletic named the Dodgers’ Rojas, not Johan Rojas of the Philadelphia Phillies, who was first reported to have failed a PED test in February. In an interview with Chris Rose, Miguel Rojas shared his honest feelings about being misidentified in the false report.
“He didn’t mistype my name. He did it with all the intention to put my name and the organization’s name on that tweet,” Rojas told Rose . “You don’t even know how Andrew Friedman felt after these accusations that, for six minutes, rumbled my whole world and got so many people around me and around us, the team, the Los Angeles Dodgers, worried, because one guy ‘made a mistake,’” Rojas said.
“I’m totally OK with making mistakes, but at the end of the day, I was expecting an apology. ” Drellich, who is on assignment in Miami to cover the World Baseball Classic — not in Arizona, where the Dodgers hold spring training — had not reached out to apologize as of Wednesday morning, according to Rojas. Rojas, 37, has previously said the 2026 MLB season will be his last .
A veteran of 12 major league seasons, Rojas has never been suspended for PED use.
