The Miami Dolphins traded away one of their franchise cornerstones , wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, to the Denver Broncos on Tuesday.

Miami's decision to move on from Waddle signals that a rebuild is underway, which has led to teams reaching out to the Dolphins about the availability of running back De'Von Achane. However, the team has no plans to trade the ascending playmaker. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter , the Dolphins have told interested teams that Achane is not available for trade.

"Sources: Teams that have called the Miami Dolphins to inquire about trading for Pro-Bowl RB Deโ€™Von Achane have been told that he is not available," Schefter said. Even if Miami is rebuilding, it makes no sense to trade Achane. The 24-year-old had a breakout 2025 campaign, tallying 1,838 scrimmage yards and 12 total touchdowns.

He also earned his first Pro Bowl selection. Trading Achane would leave the Dolphins' offense with no premier playmakers and explosive threats. Achane should take some pressure off quarterback Malik Willis and keep Miami competitive in 2026.
