Holy Cross women's basketball seniors Mary-Elizabeth Donnelly, Kaitlyn Flanagan, Simone Foreman and Meg Cahalan are headed to their third NCAA Tournament.

WORCESTER – Holy Cross senior Mary-Elizabeth Donnelly’s dad, Mark, played at Davidson in the late 1990s and helped the Wildcats to an NCAA Tournament appearance in 1998. When Donnelly’s HC freshman team matched that feat, her father told her to savor the moment. “He said most people never even get there once,” Donnelly said.

With their win over Lehigh in the Patriot League Tournament final , Donnelly and her three classmates, Kaitlyn Flanagan, Simone Foreman and Meg Cahalan, secured the foursome’s third trip to the NCAAs in their fabulous four years. “To get it three times is so special,” Donnelly said. “To do it as us four, it means so much to end it this way.

” HC’s seniors have an overall record of 87-43 and made a major impact on this year’s team, which had its struggles early, but came together when it counted most. The Crusaders (23-9) ride a nine-game winning streak into their first-round NCAA matchup at Michigan at 5:30 p. m.
