New Headline: "Jennings' Stellar Performance Basks in San Francisco's Adoration of the Draft
San Francisco 49ers free agent Jauan Jennings remains available on the open market. A 49ers beat writer recently shared what he thinks the chances are of Jennings re-signing in San Francisco.

We are more than a week into free agency and former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings remains unsigned.
It's at least somewhat surprising to see Jennings unsigned. Granted, he wasn't in the top tier of available free agents, but he figured to be right in that second tier and we know there were and still are no shortage of wide receiver-needy teams. That points to a soft market for Jennings, and while that might lend to the idea that he could end up back in San Francisco on a bargain deal, The Athletic's Vic Tafur says don't count on it.
"Gotta start it off with an easy one. No," Tafur said in a mailbag when asked if the Niners might reunite with Jennings. "The money has been spent, and the position has been filled.
Jennings made some big catches and some nasty blocks for the 49ers, and you gotta feel bad for him that his free-agent market was soft. " The writing was on the wall last year that Jennings wasn't long for San Francisco after the two sides failed to get an extension done and he requested a trade. The Niners addressed their need at receiver by signing Mike Evans and Christian Kirk in free agency.
