The program is set to hire Penn State assistant Joe Crispin as its new menโ€™s basketball coach, according to a person with direct knowledge who was not authorized to speak for the school publicly. Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports was first to report the news. Air Force fired former coach Joe Scott on February 20 following an investigation into his treatment of players.

Scott, who was in his second stint with the school, was initially suspended in January 2026. Assistant coach Jon Jordan took over as interim head coach. The team finished 3-29, 0-20 in the Mountain West Conference.

A former Penn State standout, Crispin has been an assistant under head coach Mike Rhoades for the past three seasons. Prior to the return to his alma mater, Crispin spent the previous seven seasons as the head menโ€™s basketball coach at Rowan University in Glassboro, N. J.
