The FC Bayern wonderkid will miss a huge opportunity in March.

One of the top prospects in Germany, and perhaps the sport last season was Tom Bischof who was excelling at TSG Hoffenheim as perhaps their best player. He impressed so much so that he earned his first senior callup in time to play in the Nations League 3rd place Final. Since then though, things have been a bit downhill for the wonderkid.
Not in terms of performance on the pitch, but simply in getting on the pitch at all. Aleksander Pavlović, Joshua Kimmich, and Leon Goretzka have all been preferred options in the midfield over Bischof and the wealth of attacking options for Vincent Kompany means that the 20-year-old has been sidelined to a secondary role at best. Despite this, Bischof has made the most of a unique opportunity at left-back.
Despite an unfamiliar position, the German has excelled in the role thus far and rumors were starting to swirl about a potential return to the senior national team. However, reports have now come in that Bischof is in fact not being called up to Julian Nagelsmann’s squad for the March friendlies, as per Tz’s Vincent Tschirpke and Philipp Kessler . Disappointing to say the least for Bayern Munich fans, however, an increasing role in the next few months for Bischof will surely continue to increase the demand for his services.
