For the first time this season, Northwestern women’s lacrosse has fallen out of the top 10. Losses to Syracuse and Ohio State have sent the Wildcats’ season spiraling, and at 5-3, the ‘Cats currently sit at No. 11 in the IWLCA coaches poll rankings.
Frankly, it’s exceedingly hard to imagine a top 10 talk excluding Northwestern this season, but the 2026 Wildcats have not looked remotely like their dominant selves from years past. Northwestern lacrosse has dropped to No. 11 in the latest IWLCA Coaches' Poll.
That's the Wildcats' lowest ranking, and their first time outside of the top 10, since March 26, 2018, when they were ranked No. 12. It's been 2,912 days since then.
