New Head Coach Brian Daboll Ready to Revamp Shedeur Sanders' Performance!
If not for former head coach Brian Daboll, the New York Giants may have made a mistake in drafting QB Shedeur Sanders over QB Jaxson Dart.
Jaxson Dart is the starting quarterback and the future for the New York Giants heading into the 2026 NFL season, but it may have turned out differently had the former head coach Brian Daboll not spoken up. The Giants, led by general manager Joe Schoen, were smitten with Colorado's Shedeur Sanders, whom they had courted heavily in the predraft process. Daboll was not sold, however, after a lackluster top 30 visit in which Sanders reportedly came unprepared.
Daboll preferred Ole Miss' Dart and lobbied hard to make him a Giant, which Schoen did via a draft day trade. Seeing #Vikings relegate J. J.
McCarthy reminds me I bit on an all-time #nfldraft smokescreen with #Giants . And their evaluation seems very right. Very different than Shedeur Sanders, who some #NyGiants execs loved before Brian Daboll spoke up about Jaxson Dart.
