The all-time great shortstop got in on a hotly-contested conversation that’s transpired during the WBC. Many baseball stars have discussed the importance of the tournament in comparison to winning a World Series.

During the WBC final broadcast on Fox, Jeter took a major shot at those players and fans saying the World Baseball Classic is more significant. However, Jeter isn’t buying into the hype of the tournament just yet.

“I think the people that say it’s bigger than the World Series never played in a World Series,” Jeter bluntly stated ahead of Venezuela’s WBC victory. In Jeter’s defense, all three of the top stars on America’s squad haven’t won a World Series championship. Meanwhile, the ex-Yankees star had one of the most successful careers any baseball has ever accomplished while in New York.
