The Miami Dolphins have been one of the busiest teams of the offseason. We’ve already seen them move on from their head coach and general manager, and the new leadership group hasn’t wasted any time tearing the roster down to the studs. That process took a major leap forward on Tuesday, then GM Jon-Eric Sullivan traded away star receiver Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos in exchange for a first-round pick plus change.

It’s clear the Dolphins are in the middle of a fire sale. That’s prompted teams from coming after other players on Miami’s roster too. But it turns out, not everything is up for grabs.

According to ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter , teams have also been trying to trade for Pro Bowl running back De’Von Achane too. However, the Dolphins are not interested in trading their 24-year-old starting running back. The Dolphins are responding by telling teams he’s not available.

Achane is, however, eligible for a contract extension this summer, and he could be one of the few players the new regime is willing to commit to a multi-year agreement with right away. Thus, teams looking to inject some speed into their offense will have to look elsewhere. Achane arrived in the third round as the 84th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft by the Dolphins.
